Chatting With Victoria Henley Post VYCE at NYFW

On Monday September 8th of 2025, I attended Eyecam's runway show VYCE. What an amazing way to kick off NYFW (New York Fashion Week) for the fall season. I was lucky enough to chat with some extremely talented individuals after the show - the very first being the one and only Victoria Henley. She competed in cycle 19 of ANTM (America's Next Top Model). Ms. Henley walked for the fabulous Sim Allure earlier that night, and rocked her outfit. You can find Victoria on Instagram @victoriahenley.

I'm here with the fabulous Victoria Henley and she just walked for VYCE. How are you feeling?

Victoria

I am feeling great.
This was absolutely a phenomenal show. You, Daniel, the rest of the production team did an incredible job, and what a great way to kick off New York Fashion Week, right?

Angid

Honestly, yeah.
And you've been in modeling for a little bit, you know, I get some research on you. What about some of the major changes you've seen over time?

Victoria

Sure. So my modeling journey actually dates back to a little diner outing with my mom. I was a baby, just bald, toothless, like any other baby. And I got scouted for a baby gap campaign through an agency.
And so I feel like it was because - my parents were not an industry at all. They're like science nerds. And then when I got enough sentience to actually realize, like, I think I might want to do this.
My amazing mom drove me to modeling lessons, like two hours each way, twice a week. I did America's Next Top Model, which was an incredibly toxic experience. Do not recommend, but fast forward, really, that there are good changes.
I think happening. There's a lot of inclusivity. There's more diversity.
You see different ages, body tights. And I think events like this is certain events that you see happening across the city are a catalyst of that change. And I think we're going to keep going in a positive direction.
So every year, I see it get a little better.

Angid

That's amazing. Yeah.
And your mom's been, a huge support, obviously, you mentioned from the very beginning. She was here tonight. Do you ever, like, look for advice from her still before you walk?
You still look for her for that that guidance even now?

Victoria

You know, when I look around at this event, I see so many supportive people, whether it's partners or family. And you know the saying teamwork makes the dream work.
I think that is so true. You can't, I would be nothing and would have done nothing without the support of my mom. I truly believe that. She actually became a professional photographer because a photographer did not show up for this gig I was producing. And people loved her pictures.
And so now we partner together. I lean on her so much for emotional support, her advice. So I absolutely do.
For anybody who needs to hear this, there is no shame in the game of being a mama's girl, because I totally am.

Angid

Absolutely not. I agree. It's very good to be a mama's girl. I'm just going to change the topic a little bit. What's a fashion trend you think has never left that no matter what, you know, the magazines or trends say that you'll always love?
It's kind of timeless to you.

Victoria

You know, I think the trend that is maybe timeless, and that might be a little bit of an oxymoron, like a timeless trend, but I feel like there was a time that bold eyebrows were like, not the thing. Everybody was shaving their eyebrows and penciling them in. And no, I love that, like a thick brow, a big, poofy hair, you know, whatever. I feel like unique, unique characteristics that make you yourself. So I am a big believer in whatever makes you, you and unique, stick to that.
And I think that's the most timeless trend there is, just embracing that unique because there's too many people these days looking just alike. So I think it's timeless to be you.

Angid

And that's a good's a good message to put out there for people. What was your favorite piece of you've ever?

Victoria

My favorite piece that I've ever worn... that is a really hard one. One time at London Fashion Week, I did this angelic white dress and wore angel wings.
And it was a finale piece. And I I tend to gravitate towards pieces that make me feel empowered, regal, elegant. And, you know, empowered for people means showing a lot of skin.
Sometimes empowered means the total opposite of that. But I think anything that I wear, you just know when it's a good fit. It's like, this is my kind of piece.
So I really, really love that piece. I've been able to partner and design some of my own collections. So wearing pieces that I actually dreamed up and created, those were some of my best moments.

Angid

Okay, okay. And who is a designer that you may have seen through social media or heard about through the grapevine that you would want to work with in the future and model for?

Victoria

Wow, they's so many different designers.
I mean, I really love emerging designers, that sort of go against the brain of fast fashion. You know, I really like that. I would say that a designer that I haven't worked with in a while, well, someone who stole you would love to work with her.
I'm trying to think of people I haven't worked with. Pretty Little Things. That brand, I love the fact that with their shows. Tiana Taylor, I believe, is is the mastermind behind that, but they have people like, one of their models had cerebral palsy.
Like, one was, you know, 80 years old. The other was like a kid. and then they have the standard models too. So I really like the brands that are like, out there.
So I would, I'm putting that out in the universe. Would love to work with her.

Angid

Well, thank you so much for your time Victoria and I'm glad that we got to talk.

Victoria

Yes, likewise, thank you so much.
