A Word and a Dose of Bunni

Buni AKA Stella posing on a bench

I got the opportunity to interview Miss Stella, known on social media as Bunni. I got to dive into her mind when it came to her experiences, the beginning years of her modeling career, and somethings in between.

~

Angid

So my name is Angie. Here with Stella. If you want to start with giving your social media handles, letting them know who you are, and connect with you.

Stella

So I'm Stella. I go by dose of bunni, and Bunny Blazes is my show/stage name. You can find me at doseofbunni on Instagram.

Angid

I’m just gonna start with some basic questions, like, how long have you been modeling?

Stella

I’m coming up on, four and half years now. Times been ticking on by, but I started during COVID, so it doesn’t feel that long.

Angid

Well, since you mentioned you started during 2020, the COVID year, how did that affect your progress? If you felt like it did.

Stella

Yeah, so I did a lot of self portraits during that year. So that was really cool, just to kind of get a background in, like the lighting and angles and stuff like that. So I feel like it helped me get a little bit more comfortable with my posing before I was actually in studios. So I was really stiff when I started.

Angid

So you feel like it helped you as a model, more than harmed you?

Stella

Yeah actually, it really did help out!

Angid

So basically, practice made perfect, especially when we're by yourself and you didn't have that pressure of being in a huge group like this one.

Stella

Definitely. And I started with my iPhone, so when I got to actually have real cameras around and everything, it just showed the quality.

Angid

And what inspired you to start modeling. What brought you to it?

Stella

I was really into the online content spaces, and I just connected with some art photographers, and they were like, “oh, have you ever posed the Art Media or anything like that?” And I was like, no, but I'd be down to try. So it just kind of snowballed from there. I got connected with other people who are in the same industry. It just snowballed from there. I had no intentions for it to go this way.

Angid

And what does it mean to you? Emotionally? Do you have an emotional attachment to it? What does modeling mean to you?

Stella

Um, over the years, I've definitely grown an emotional attachment to it. I feel like it’s really powerful. Um, I just feel like it's really impactful for someone's confidence. Anybody could get up on camera and just really start to understand, like, how they feel themselves and their presence. And I just think anybody could get a photo shoot, it'll be really pivotal for how they feel about themselves.

Angid

And I know one of the first shoots you did with Eyecam was in a park. It was a very spooky vibe. Do you think you'd do something like that again?

Stella

Oh yeah, absolutely. Yeah, I love the artistic, crazy concepts. I keep telling people, the weirder the better, because I like to try new things, stretch my skills.

Angid

Step outside your comfort zone.

Stella

Yeah! Exactly!

Angid

Do you have another shoot in mind that's like that, that you can tell us a little bit about?

Stella

Um, as far as creepy, and spooky. I don't have anything planned yet, but I feel like I've been bringing a lot more of like a mystical element to my shoots. Actually, I did one on the beach recently.

Angid

With the moonlight, right?

Stella

Yeah.

Angid

I was going to pivot into that. Are into astrology, by chance chance?

Stella

I am!

Angid

Does that affect your creative process and your art?

Stella

Absolutely. Actually, I run my whole business based around the moon. So during the full moon and everything is when I'm gathering, like, lots of ideas and inspiration, taking time to reflect on what I've done and my achievements, where I could grow. And then, um, during that the new moon was like, all right, I gotta email, put some things in the action. Usually you don't see me during the full moon, they got lucky.

Angid

I remember EYECAM telling me “I have to do it on this day”. I remember him saying “I have to shoot with Stella.”

Stella

Yeah, the moon was full, that’s why. Yeah, we were working on lunar time.

Angid

So how long did the lunar time or astrology really inspire you? Like, how long has it gone into your work?

Stella

Um, so actually, I would say that I was more so influenced by astrology and all of that before I even got into modeling. Because I worked with women prior to modeling, and I still do um, and I just felt like it was the best way to really navigate what was best and not be an ass to them all the time, right? How do I actually embody my feminine energy, right? That's how it started. And then when I started this line of work, I was like, it's coming with me.

Angid

And I help it brings you a sense of peace, right? Like, I will always have a part of me in , and, there will always be a piece of me in my work.

Stella

Yeah,my personality, and I feel also spiritually aligned with what I'm doing, which I'm, like, you know, everybody can say that, and they want to pull away from the work, because when you don't feel connected to it, you give no doubt. I think it keeps me really attached to what I do.

Angid

And that's always great. And I loved talking to you. Thank you for taking the time to speak with me.

Stella

Yeah, it was great. Yeah, it was good to talk to you, Angid. Thank you so much.
