At Eyecam's Christmas event, I was able to snag Aly to ask her a couple of questions so that her audience and followers can get to know the talent a little more personally. We discuss her background, personal goals, and some possible ideas in the works.

Angid

Okay, I’m here with Aly. You want to start by giving everyone your socials, your handle?

Aly

Yes. My name is Alyssa, aka Aly. My Instagram is going to be Gold.Aly.

Angid

Okay, so I'm going to start off with some basic questions. How long have you been modeling?

Aly

Two and half years.

Angid

And what brought about your passion or want to model?

Aly

It's something that I got a lot from people because of my height, right? So a lot of people told me to try it. So when I did try it, I loved it. It definitely helped me gain confidence. So I just kept going.

Angid

And what does it mean to you? Does it mean anything to you personally or spiritually?

Aly

Yes, it's something that makes me happy. So if I'm having a hard week and I know I have a photo shoot coming up, I look forward to it, because I know it's my happy place. Okay, especially when it's around people that I know and that I care for, it makes it even better.

Angid

One of the last times I spoke to you said you wanted to do more editorial shots, and you've been doing a lot more of that. How does that make you feel?

Aly

It makes me feel good. Definitely makes me feel good because I'm doing something a little bit different than what I'm used to. So it makes me feel like I'm very versatile. And then on top of that, Daniel (Eyecam) has been pushing to do runway. So it's like, this way I get a feel for everything, and I was gonna pivot into runway too.

Angid

You just did Donny Devil's runway. How do you feel after doing that?

Aly

When I first got there, I was very nervous. I think after the first walk, I was like, okay, I got this. I think what made me comfortable is that I've seen some familiar faces, so I was okay with walking. And then they have another on the 14th, which I'll be there too, and then hopefully we get Fashion Week.

Angid

What was the process like of getting ready and to walk down a runway versus getting ready to shoot for photographers at a normal event?

Aly

For me, it was I start from when I wake up in the morning. I'm very high on making sure that, mentally, I feel okay that day, and mentally, I'm in a happy place before I leave, when you get there, it's more so kind of like waiting to get fitted to make sure everything fits you. Then you're waiting for Showtime and you're getting dressed as you're getting dressed, it's kind of chaotic, because that back part gets so so crowded, and it can get overwhelming, right? Especially if you're not used to crowds. What I had to do was, when I walk, I had to like space out. I stared into one thing and one thing only and kept going, because if I looked around, I think I would have hesitated.

Angid

Oh yeah, because there's a lot of faces in that crowd. They're all looking at you. Yeah, I definitely see that focusing on one thing helps you. You mentioned that is very chaotic in the back. What was it like having to get dressed on the go? Because you have to change out of one outfit into the next really quickly.

Aly

It was little crazy, because it kind of felt like you were changing in the corner, and it kind of feels like there's 20 other people in that same corner. So it's kind of feel like you're bumping heads with everyone else. Then at the same time, you have the designer back there, so you have to make sure you're not showing off anything. So I'm still trying to get used to that, but it can be pretty chaotic.

Angid

And I would say runway is probably was one of your goals, going into modeling. Do you have a new goal in mind now that you've done the runway and doing another show in February?

Aly

My goal is to just keep going, make it into bigger and bigger runway shows. I started off with something small, so my goal is to continue into something that's even bigger. Bigger shows, bigger events, something that has more of a name to it, and then I'll be happy.

Angid

So something a bit more mainstream and global?

Aly

As long as I make it on a billboard one day! Time Square is the ultimate goal. I will be completely happy with myself. I definitely reached the level where I didn't think that I was going to get to at some point.

Angid

And when did that vision pop into your mind?

Aly

It started at the beginning of this year. At first I didn't really care for it, because, again, big crowds. I'm not used to it, so I didn't really want too much of the attention. But now that I'm more confident in myself and I want more for myself, I have to set myself up to that high scale and standard if I want to continue to grow.

Angid

Since you are in runway and you've worked with Eyecam and you're going to be in his show in February, are you inspired to me produce one of your own one day? Because he says you're always trying to expand.

Aly

Maybe. I definitely been wanting to do my own events, my own creativity. I think that it would come with time, but I do have a lot of ideas in mind that I'm keeping it to myself so I can accomplish them.

Angid

They're hush hush until then.

Aly

Yeah. Of course you guys would be the first to know.

Angid

I look forward to it. Thats gonna be cool. Thank you Aly.
